Thing # 16 Wikis

This week I learned about Wikis and found the number of ways that they can be used very interesting. Wiki's really incorporate the whole idea of blogging along with organizing information. It's like a community created library online. I have often used Wikipedia for personal and work related searches so, with this tutorial, I feel confident using this tool.

Thing #15

I read a variety of blogs on Learning 2.0 and the library's future.
I particularly enjoyed the last one "To a Temporary Place in Time".
This blog seemed to really capture what's going on as the world of technology and libraries collide. Our world is changing so fast that our 2.0 world may soon seem archaic to the 3.0/4.0......realities. Information is a global, holistic experience and the days of focusing on books only is long past.
Very informative, enjoyed the far reaching perspective of future technologies.

Thing # 14 Technorati

I worked with Technorati and explored the differences in that, blogs, tags....I found Technorati to be very detailed and a comprehensive way to search online. I found using the tags a bit confusing at first but it made more sense as I went along. I registered with Technorati and may use this resource in the future.

Week 6- del.iciou.us

This week I explored the del.iciou.us site and learned how to use this for bookmarking websites and specific info. I registered with the site and now have my own link to this resource. It reminds me a lot of "my favorites" but with a lot more detail and capability. I can definitly see using this for research of any sort as well as 'casual bookmarking' of misx sites. I use 'my favs' a lot so this is just a more efficient way to save and sort info.
Very helpful!

Week 5 Rollyo

Created an account with Rollyo and explored the site for a varitety of topics. I'm not familiar as of yet with a lot of websites so I opted to explore instead of creating a search tool.

Week 5 My Library

Looked in my library and added 5 books to my account. This would be a useful tool when you're not near a computer.

Week 4 Library Blogs

I checked out the library blogs and through them, researched MERLIN.
It's nice to know there's a whole world of connected knowledge out there!
